Tuberculosis Collection

TB resources relevant to health of Indigenous people in Canada

The Tuberculosis (TB) Collection is a selective repository of resources related specifically to tuberculosis and the health of First Nations, Inuit and Métis populations in Canada. The resources focus primarily on issues and topics that would be of interest to health practitioners working in Indigenous communities, public health researchers and policy makers. You will also find NCCIH resources related to TB.

Resources include studies on the prevalence and incidence of TB and latent TB among Indigenous populations, risk factors for developing TB and progression to active disease, TB disease transmission patterns, barriers to and effectiveness of TB treatment, management, prevention and health promotion measures, as well as patient experiences with, perceptions and knowledge of TB. The Collection also contains diverse types of resources, from fact sheets providing general information about TB symptoms, diagnosis and treatment for community members, to reports and TB prevention and management strategies from government departments/agencies and Indigenous organizations, to peer-reviewed scientific journal articles.

The Collection can be searched by health topic, subject/keyword, publication type and year published. While all resources in the Collection were freely accessible on the Internet when they were included, the NCCIH assumes no responsibility for any links that are broken or changes in free access.
