2011

Cheah, C.S.L., & Sheperd, K.A.

Description

This study examines the maternal beliefs and practices of Indigenous and European mothers of preschoolers about aggressive behaviour and how to respond to it. The study found that both groups of mothers generally responded negatively to both proactive and reactive aggression; however, Indigenous mothers were less anxious and used less power assertive strategies compared to European Canadian mothers.
