To test the potential for human exposure to selected environmental contaminants from abandoned radar sites in northern Ontario, the authors examined patterns of differences with respect to body burden of organochlorines between residents of the Fort Albany (former radar site), Kashechewan (no radar site), and Hamilton (industrial, southern Ontario community). The study found higher levels of exposure to DDT for Fort Albany residents compared to residents of the other communities.
