Using the power of storytelling this report highlights the impacts of COVID-19 on Indigenous Peoples, emphasizing the relational and holistic nature of Indigenous health and wellness. In particular, it highlights the historic and enduring legacy of colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and their health, social and economic inequity, how COVID-19 has magnified these inequities, the data challenges that need to be addressed to help Indigenous communities curb the pandemic, and the role of Indigenous self-determination, leadership and place-based knowledge as resilience factors.
