Indigenous Primary Health Care Council
Developed in partnership with the Government of Ontario, this document articulates why cultural safety is important in public health care; and provides tips for how to engage effectively and in a culturally safe way with Indigenous communities, and how to develop strong partnerships in service delivery and improve stakeholder relations. The guide also includes several tools including for how to build an Indigenous community mini profile, a public health unit self-assessment checklist, principles of effective engagement, and other resources for engaging with Indigenous communities.
