Culturally responsive Indigeneity of relations - SPARK Conference 2019 Sharing Circle: Embracing the needs of First Nations children through the voices of First Nation early childhood educators

2020

Huston, L., Mason, B., & Loon, R.

Description

Drawing from a traditional sharing circle held at a Spark conference, this article shares knowledge from the perspectives and experiences of Indigenous early childhood education leaders on ways of transferring knowledge in culturally responsive ways. Participants shared their perspectives on a new vision for Indigenous early childhood development, what knowledge needs to be gathered to support that vision, what needs to change, what actions need to take place to make the re-vision a reality, and what relationships need to be established.
