This document articulates revised competencies related to the diverse roles of nurses, including the provision of safe, ethical, competent, compassionate, client-centred and evidence-informed nursing care; use of principles of trauma-informed care; adaptation of practice in response to spiritual beliefs and cultural practices of clients; taking actions to support culturally safe practice environments; engaging in self-reflection to interact from a place of cultural humility; and creating culturally safe environments.
