Description

This paper summarizes findings from a study assessing traditional knowledge and experiences of First Nations grandmothers with caring for their grandchildren. The study highlighted the important role that the grandmothers played in providing cultural transmission to subsequent generations, ensuring child safety, providing acceptance and caring for their grandchildren, and the challenges they faced in providing support for their grandchildren.
