2019

National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health

Description

Presented by Dr. Lorena Fontaine and Aluki Kotierk, and hosted in partnership with the Ontario Network of CAPC/CPNP Projects, this webinar discusses why and how Indigenous languages need to be understood as intersecting with other determinants of Indigenous Peoples'  health in the context of accessing culturally-relevant, language-based education and health care services. Examples of how Indigenous concepts of healing and well-being, knowledge systems and worldviews are dependent upon Indigenous language use and revitalization are provided.
