This strategic approach to solving the inequity in health care focuses on community engagement to build a foundation of trust with First Nations and Métis communities and organizations; providing education and information to Indigenous Peoples to better explore healthcare career opportunities and training; providing cultural safety information and education to employees working with Indigenous peers, clients and patients; attracting qualified Indigenous workers to job opportunities; and addressing issues affecting the retention of Indigenous employees.
