Initial evaluation of a cultural approach to implementation of evidence-based parenting interventions in American Indian Communities

2009

Dionne, R., Davis, B., Sheeber, L., & Madrigal, L.

Description

This article discusses the authors' conceptualization of a cultural approach to implementing evidence-based parenting practices with American Indian families that involves two phases: a motivational phase and an intervention phase. The authors then present preliminary evidence of the effectiveness of the intervention phase of the Incredible Years parenting program, including significant pre- and post-improvements in parenting and child behaviour.
