Description

This report provides background information to inform the development of a child and youth health indicator framework for New Zealand. It explores New Zealand's approaches to monitoring the health of children and young people, reviews the theoretical basis for population health surveillance and approaches taken by other countries in this area, describes the methodology being used by the Project Team to develop the monitoring framework, and makes recommendations for additional measures that might be taken to optimize the health of children and young people in New Zealand.
