Description

In this prospective longitudinal study, the authors examine the relationship between prenatal exposure to methylmercury (MeHg), polychlorinated biphenyls, and lead to behavioral problems in school aged Inuit children from Nunavik exposed to these contaminants through their traditional diet. The study finds an association between prenatal MeHg exposure and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms in childhood and between low-level childhood lead exposure to ADHD in a population primarily exposed to lead from dietary sources.
