This paper provides a review of the literature on Indigenous child mental health in Canada and addresses important considerations in developing appropriate parenting supports for children with anxieties. The authors present models of parenting empowerment strategies to help Indigenous parents address the holistic needs of their children who are experiencing anxiety and discuss practice models, response-based practice and solution-focused approaches that are culturally relevant and practical.
