Intended as a complement to the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada's Annual Report on the State of Public Health in Canada, "From risk to resilience: An equity approach to COVID-19", this report highlights findings from engagement sessions with Indigenous populations on the challenges they faced in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and what can be learned for the future. Key themes from these engagement sessions were: Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination, kinship, mental health, substance use, community leadership and preparedness, mistrust, structural inequalities,  healthcare access, funding, relationship with governments, land, domestic violence, ceremony, communication, and data.
