An agreement with the Government of BC has allowed Huu-ay-ahts First Nation to re-introduce their traditional forest management practices based on the Hishuk Tsawak worldview of everything being one and connected. This article describes this worldview, examines whether 'place' matters with respect to the resilience of the Huu-ay-aht worldview, and discusses how the Huu-ay-aht worldview contributes to and influences current understandings of forest management practices.
