Advancing First Nations health data sovereignty

Briana Linton (she/her) is a member of Muskoday First Nation in Saskatchewan. She currently serves as a Knowledge Translation Officer with the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC), where she supports the mobilization of First Nations health data and helps to advance First Nations data sovereignty in alignment with the First Nations Principles of OCAP® (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession).

Prior to joining FNIGC, Briana worked with the Building Bridges program at the University of Saskatchewan — a collaborative initiative between the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre and the International Student and Study Abroad Centre (ISSAC) focused on fostering meaningful relationships and cross-cultural understanding. She has also volunteered with the Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways (ISAP) Learning Communities, providing peer mentorship and contributing to programming that supports Indigenous undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan.
