The National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health (NCCIH), located on the traditional and unceded territory of Lheidli T’enneh First Nation at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), invites applications for the position of Research Associate.
Reporting to the NCCIH Academic Lead, Dr. Terri Aldred, and Research and Operations Manager, Donna Atkinson, this position will support research and knowledge translation activities related to First Nations, Inuit, and Metis public health, including identifying, analyzing, synthesizing, and disseminating scientific, Indigenous and other knowledges to promote and improve the use of evidence in public health decision-making, policy and practice.
About the NCCIH
The NCCIH is one of six National Collaborating Centres for Public Health (NCCPH) established in 2005 with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) to promote and support the timely use of scientific research and other knowledges in public health practice, programs, and policies. Its mandate is to strengthen public health systems and advocate for health equity for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada through knowledge translation and exchange.

The NCCIH is located at the UNBC main campus in Prince George, British Columbia, however remote (off-site) work in other locations across Canada is an option. First Nations, Inuit, and Metis applicants will receive priority.
The positions are for a one-year-term, with the possibility of extension based on operational requirements and funding availability.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $38.00 to $44.00 per hour, and the normal starting salary will be $38.00 per hour. Normal hours of work are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Pacific Time, Monday to Friday.
