Report summary - COVID-19 and Indigenous Peoples’ access to STBBI services: Summarizing a qualitative study

The COVID-19 pandemic strained health care systems across Canada, including for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs). This summary provides a synopsis of the key findings from the report COVID-19 and Indigenous peoples’ access to STBBI and related health services: A qualitative study. It summarizes how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the availability, accessibility, and delivery of STBBI and related health services for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis STBBI service users, STBBI service providers, and policy- and decision-makers. The findings are based on interviews and focus groups completed by the National Collaborating Centres for Indigenous Health and Infectious Diseases in 2021-2022.
