This public health podcast of Infectious Questions, Public Health Considerations for COVID-19 in Evacuations of Northern Indigenous Communities, features speaker Dr. Emily Dicken, the Director of Emergency Management at the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). Dr. Dicken touches upon the prevalence and impact of evacuations for northern Indigenous communities; specific considerations around COVID-19 and evacuations of Indigenous communities due to natural disasters, including wildfires; as well as what needs to be in place to ensure the health and well-being of Indigenous communities who are evacuated during this pandemic. The podcast was jointly produced through the National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health (NCCIH) and the National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCCID) and was recorded on June 17, 2020.
