In 2024, the Government of Canada announced the implementation of its new Canada Early Learning and Child Care Act. The Act commits the federal government to working with provincial, territorial, and Indigenous partners to invest in and build a national early learning and child care (ELCC) system that is accessible, affordable, inclusive, and of high quality for all families across Canada.
