This article is targeted at health care providers to enhance their awareness of the facts about COVID-19, cultural implications, and the potential for stigmatization of some populations. Specifically, it highlights the impacts of COVID-19 response measures of quarantine and social isolation on household income and access to care, and the importance of timely and appropriate public health interventions that address cultural impacts and the risk for stigmatization.
