Description

This document is part of a two-year initiative funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation to develop curriculum for service providers that specifically meets the needs of urban Indigenous people living in Ottawa. The project is a partnership between the Wabano Centre and Tewegan Transition House. The document defines cultural safety and other key concepts in the continuum of care and reports on a research project involving a literature review and qualitative research methods aimed at identifying how cultural safety can be achieved in Ottawa and the lived experiences of culturally unsafe practices. Findings from this study will inform the development of this curriculum.
