1998

Polaschek, N.R.

Journal of Advanced Nursing

Description

This paper compares and contrasts the concept of cultural safety with Leininger's model of transcultural nursing. It highlights the importance of social and institutional contexts in the efficacy of the two healthcare approaches and concludes that the effects of inequalities in power between groups must be addressed to ensure that the needs of persons of minority cultures are met.
