Government of the Northwest Territories
In 2019, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GWNT) released Doing Our Part: Initial Response to ‘Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls’ (“the Initial Response”) report. The Initial Response lists the thematic sections of the Inquiry’s Calls for Justice, highlighting where the GNWT is already doing work that departments can build on and setting out a number of high-level questions the GNWT will need to carefully consider before taking further action.
