Clifford, H., Pearson, G., Franklin, P., Walker, R., & Zosky, G.

University of Tasmania, Australia

Description

The authors undertook a comprehensive review of the literature on physical environmental challenges in remote Indigenous communities that have been linked with adverse health outcomes to improve understanding of environmental risk factors in remote Aboriginal Australian communities and identify research gaps. They focus on inhaled geogenic (earth-derived) dust and biomass smoke, bacterial and heavy metal contamination of drinking water, and overcrowding.
