2024

Description

The authors present findings from a systematic review of the literature that characterizes the experiences of Indigenous patients receiving dialysis in countries formerly colonized by the British to order to identify areas for improvement. They identified four themes: the centrality of family and culture in dialysis, marginalization due to structural and social inequities, vulnerability in accessing health care, and distress resulting from separation from community for treatment.
