Drawing on data from the 2006 Aboriginal Children's Survey, this article explores the extent to which families and communities of young off-reserve First Nations children have opportunities to learn about and use Indigenous languages, and the family and community characteristics that are associated with Indigenous language knowedge among off-reserve First Nations children aged 2-5 years.
