In May 2016, the provincial government launched a three-year $222 million First Nations Health Action Plan to support the development and implementation of initiatives that provide First Nations people with more access to culturally appropriate care and improved outcomes. In addition to this investment, the province announced sustained funding of $104.5 million annually to address health inequities and improve access to culturally appropriate health services over the long term.
