This article reports findings from a qualitative research project that aimed to understand how Indigenous mothers in Hamilton (Ontario) experienced selecting and using health services to meet the needs of their infants. The authors highlight the need to apply culturally safe, trauma and violence-informed, and family-centred approaches to care to improve Indigenous mothers' interactions with the health care system and promote equitable access to care.
