In 2009, Indian and Northern Affairs conducted an impact evaluation of the Labrador Innu Comprehensive Healing Strategy. This evaluation report assessed the effectiveness and impact of the strategy and provided guidance and evidence-based recommendations on future directions. It sought to measure the degree to which the strategy improved the well-being of the Labrador Innu communities of Natuashish and Sheshatshiu, the effectiveness of programming funded under the strategy and identification of gaps, and the effectiveness of the integrated management approach that was used in the strategy to support Indigenous healing initiatives.
