This article presents a comprehensive review and analysis of the literature on the role of Indigenous language and culture in improving health and reducing the risk factors for health problems among Indigenous Peoples. The review identified six linked themes as protective factors: land and health, traditional medicine, spirituality, traditional foods, traditional activities, and language.
