Description

The authors aim to enhance understanding of how patients experience and understand cultural safety during the perinatal period, through a scoping review. The review identified three themes: 1) care that acknowledged patients' lives were different from the dominant culture; 2) care received in the community; and 3) respect for patient choices and culturally specific knowledge by care providers.
