Description

Based on learnings from collaborative work with First Nations and Inuit partners, the authors offer insight on how to facilitate the necessary conditions for communities to define and foster their own wellness. Actions focus on respecting and valuing diverse and distinctive perspectives of mental wellness, fostering culturally safe approaches to mental wellness, recognizing historical injustices and contributing to reconciliation, acting on evidence of social determinants of health, and supporting community development and control.
