Description

This article explores the cultural safety of the Quality Assurance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Medical Services (QAAMS) program, which conducts point-of-care testing for diabetes management across Australia. Findings indicate that the program is culturally safe and fills a permanent and positive niche within the Indigenous health sector as an accessible 'one-stop' pathology service for Indigenous clients with diabetes.
