The authors present findings from a qualitative study exploring Indigenous people's experiences of accessing mental health and addictions care in the inner-city of Vancouver, BC. They identify four key themes: normalization of social surffering, re-creation of trauma, challenges reconciling constrained lives with harm reduction, and mitigation of suffering through relational practice.
