Description

This document is a response to the Federal Government’s request for an outline of programs and services that potentially support Indigenous persons, either directly or indirectly, in Newfoundland and Labrador. Highlights include actions taken to strengthen relationships and improve partnerships with Indigenous Peoples; cultural diversity and sensitivity training; culturally appropriate social services; proactive recruitment and retention; actions to address mental health, addictions and violence in Indigenous communities; and actions to address socio-economic determinants of Indigenous Peoples’ health.
