Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation
Government of Ontario
Developed in partnership with the Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres, the Métis Nation of Ontario and the Ontario Native Women’s Association, this action plan supports reconciliation between urban Indigenous communities, the provincial government and the broader public service. It is a framework that provides guidance for all provincial ministries in developing policies and programs that better respond to the unique needs and priorities of urban Indigenous communities. The plan sets out principles and steps for building relationships with and engaging Indigenous governments, organizations and communities in planning, designing and evaluating culturally appropriate programs and services based on wise practices rooted in wholistic, culture-based and prevention-focused approaches.
