This chapter applies the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists (2017) model to dilemmas psychologists often face in their work with Indigenous Peoples - that is, the lack of culturally appropriate mental health and intellectual disability assessment tools. The authors describe the principles that need to be considered and the steps that need to be addressed to ensure decisions are congruent with local contexts and cultures.
