In this thesis, the author describes a participatory research partnership with the Métis Nation of Alberta to advance the creation of self-determined measures of Métis children's social and emotional well-being. The author undertook a scoping review that aimed to identify, describe, and consolidate measures of Indigenous children's well-being developed in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States. The review identified measures that were then examined by a group of knowledge holders to reach consensus on the constructs that are important and relevant to measuring social and emotional well-being among Métis children.
