This background paper provides a synopsis of publicly available research on the interrelationship between systemic racism and COVID-19. The paper summarizes how racialized populations - including Indigenous peoples - were affected by COVID-19 in relation to healthcare, employment, housing and community support. It also offers recommendations for addressing the intersectionality of multiple oppressions for marginalized populations.
