This article identifies key components of culturally safe health initiatives for the Indigenous population in Canada from a scoping review of literature related to culturally safe health promotion programs, initiatives, services and care. The authors identified six themes of importance: collaboration/partnerships; power sharing; addressing the broader contexts of patients' lives; safe environment; organizational and individual level self-reflection; and training for healthcare providers.
