The NCCIH has developed a series of eight videos featuring discussions with some of the editors and authors of Introduction to Determinants of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples’ Health in Canada. The videos offer real-world insight and perspective that illuminate key concepts in the book, but they can also be used as stand-alone learning tools for anyone teaching or promoting Indigenous health and well-being. Follow the links below to view the videos.
In this introduction to the video series, Margo Greenwood and Sarah de Leeuw explain what prompted the editors to create the university-level textbook, Introduction to Determinants of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples’ Health in Canada (Canadian Scholars’ Press, 2022). They describe what makes this strengths-based book unique and illustrate why understanding determinants of Indigenous Peoples’ health is important for university students.
