Office of the Child and Youth Advocate
This independent review of the child protection system stemmed from a formal request from the Nunatsiavut Government to investigate Inuit children’s experiences in the child protection system. The review involved engagement with young people, parents, extended families, Elders, foster parents, community representatives, and professionals working with Inuit children. The report provided a number of recommendations for the provincial government, its departments and agencies to improve the child protection system.
