The authors test the concentration of contaminants in eight game species and one fish species that are part of the traditional diets of Cree in the Eeyou Istchee region of Quebec. They then estimate the human health risk exposure to these contaminants and discuss the risks in relation to health and wellness benefits associated with the harvesting and consumption of subsistence foods.
