An Anishinaabe perspective on child's language learning to inform "seeing the Aboriginal child"

2017

Peltier, S.

Description

The author undertakes a critical examination of attitudes and professional practices based on Western-European epistomologies and how they perpetuate the socio-cultural mismatch between many Indigenous children's homes and schools. She argues that culturally sensitive approaches are needed to "see the Aboriginal child" in early learning and child care settings.
