Created in partnership between the First Nations Chiefs' Health Committee and the BC Ministry of Health, this resource is intended to be a user-friendly health guide reference for both practitioners working in First Nations communities and community members. It provides information about Indigenous people in BC, their perceptions of health and well-being, the impacts of colonial history on health, consumer health rights and responsibilities, how to empower patients in healthcare settings, health services available to First Nations, how to address challenges in accessing health services, and tips for healthcare providers in working with Indigenous peoples and communities.
