This article discusses the need for communicating important health messages in a concise and meaningful way and being careful in how content is conveyed through electronic communication challenges to avoid miscommunication and panic and ensure optimal impact and compliance with health protection measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors call for considerations of health equity and social justice principles to remain at the forefront of pandemic responses to address the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 and preventive measures on vulnerable populations.
