This dissertation focuses on the potential of game jam cultural safety training for medical students and interns in Colombia. The research entailed: 1) a scoping review of current knowledge on cultural safety in health sciences education with a focus on game-based learning; 2) exploration of the feasibility and acceptability of cultural safety training through community-based transformative learning; 3) examination of the feasibility and acceptability of game jam learning for cultural safety training in a pilot randomized controlled trial; and 4) a parallel group randomized controlled trial that measured the impact of game jam learning compared with a standard lecture plus workshop.
