Description

The authors present findings from a study assessing the extent of environmental and occupational mercury exposure among Indigenous miners and farmers from a gold mining area in Ghana. The study found an elevated internal dose of mercury among tested participants; however, the levels of exposure did not appear to pose a significant health risk.
